AI Voice Agents for US Businesses
A front-desk hire costs $40,000+ a year before benefits and still covers one shift, one call at a time. AI Placers answers every call in a natural American voice — 6am Eastern to midnight Pacific and all the hours in between — books straight into your calendar, and hands complex calls to your team.
What is AI Placers?
AI Placers is a 24/7 AI voice agent for US businesses. It answers inbound calls in a natural American-English voice, qualifies the caller, books appointments directly into your calendar or PMS, and escalates anything complex to a human. Pricing is outcome-based — you pay per booked job, not per minute — starting at $199/month. SOC 2, HIPAA and TCPA-aligned.
Built for the Way US SMBs Actually Run
Phone-heavy businesses where a missed call is a lost customer — not a voicemail someone gets to later.
Dental & medical practices
Patients call while your front desk is mid-procedure. The AI books, reschedules and sends reminders — under a signed BAA, synced to your practice management system.
HVAC, plumbing & home services
No-heat calls at 11pm get triaged, priced and dispatched instead of going to voicemail your competitor answers first.
Real estate & brokerages
Every portal lead called back in seconds, qualified on budget and timeline, and put on your showing calendar.
Law firms
Intake handled 24/7 with conflict-check questions asked up front. Prospective clients get a human-sounding response at 2am, not an answering service script.
Restaurants & hospitality
Reservations, waitlist and takeout orders taken through the dinner rush without pulling a server off the floor.
Auto dealerships & service
Service scheduling, parts availability and trade-in enquiries answered on the first ring across every rooftop.
From Call to Booked Appointment
Three steps, in order. Most customers are taking live calls inside a week.
- 01
Point your number at us
Keep your existing number. Forward it, or port it. Setup is no-code and typically live the same week — nothing to install on your phones.
- 02
Train it on your business
Hours, services, pricing, escalation rules, the questions you always get asked. It speaks in your brand's voice, in any of 50+ languages including US Spanish.
- 03
It books, you show up
The agent writes to your calendar, CRM or PMS, texts the confirmation, and drops a transcript and summary in your inbox. Complex calls warm-transfer to a human.
US Compliance, Handled Properly
AI calling in the US is regulated federally by the FCC and at state level. Here is exactly which rules apply and what we do about each.
| Rule | What it requires | What AI Placers does |
|---|---|---|
| TCPA — FCC Declaratory Ruling, 8 Feb 2024 | The FCC ruled that an AI-generated voice is an “artificial or prerecorded voice” under the TCPA. Outbound AI calls need prior express consent — in writing where the call is telemarketing. | Consent capture and per-contact consent records built into outbound campaigns; inbound answering is unaffected. |
| National & state Do Not Call registries | Telemarketing calls must be screened against the federal DNC registry and applicable state lists. | Automatic DNC scrubbing before any outbound campaign dials. |
| STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication | Calls must be signed so carriers don't tag them as “Scam Likely”. | We dial on fully attested A-level carrier routes via Twilio and Telnyx. |
| AI disclosure laws (e.g. California B.O.T. Act) | Several states require a bot to identify itself as non-human in commercial contexts. | Disclosure is a configurable opening line and an always-on honest answer when a caller asks if they are talking to a robot. |
| HIPAA — healthcare callers | Any PHI captured on a call needs a Business Associate Agreement and encryption at rest and in transit. | BAA available; end-to-end encryption; data never shared with third parties or used to train third-party models. |
| SOC 2 | Enterprise buyers and their security reviews. | SOC 2 controls in place; security documentation available for procurement. |
What It Replaces
The honest comparison, including what each option cannot do.
| Option | Cost | Coverage | Catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-time receptionist | $40,000–$55,000/yr + benefits | One shift, one call at a time | Sick days, turnover, training |
| Traditional answering service | $1–$3 per call, per-minute overage | Reads a script, takes a message | No booking, no CRM write-back |
| Voicemail | $0 | Loses the caller | Most callers never leave one |
| AI Placers | From $199/mo | Every call, every hour, in parallel | Books, qualifies, escalates, logs |
Priced in USD. Telephony (Twilio / Telnyx), custom ElevenLabs voices and knowledge-base costs are billed separately. See full pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions
The questions the United States buyers actually ask before they sign.
Is it legal to use an AI voice agent for business calls in the US?+
Yes. Answering inbound calls with an AI agent is legal. Outbound calling is where the rules bite: the FCC's 8 February 2024 Declaratory Ruling confirmed AI-generated voices count as artificial or prerecorded under the TCPA, so outbound AI calls require prior express consent — in writing if the call is telemarketing. AI Placers captures and stores that consent per contact and scrubs against DNC lists before dialing.
Does the AI have to tell callers it's not human?+
Under federal law there's no blanket requirement, but several states — California's B.O.T. Act among them — require disclosure in commercial contexts. We recommend disclosure everywhere and ship it on by default: the agent can open with it, and it always answers honestly if a caller asks.
Is it HIPAA compliant for a medical or dental practice?+
Yes. We sign a Business Associate Agreement, encrypt call data end to end and at rest, and never share it with third parties. Practices on the Enterprise plan also get a dedicated data protection contact.
Will it show up as “Scam Likely” on iPhones?+
No. We dial over fully attested STIR/SHAKEN routes through Twilio and Telnyx, which is what carriers use to decide whether to flag a call.
Can it speak Spanish?+
Yes — 50+ languages including US Spanish, and it can switch mid-call when a caller responds in Spanish.
Does it integrate with my existing software?+
Starter includes CRM, calendar and email integrations. Professional adds Salesforce, HubSpot and Zapier, which covers most practice management and field service systems. Enterprise gets custom API work.
How much does it cost compared to hiring someone?+
Pricing is outcome-based: you pay per booked job, not per minute or per seat. It starts at $199/month for up to 25 booked jobs — $7.96 per booked job at the top of that band — and the effective rate falls to $3.30 per booked job at the highest volume. Minutes and seats are unlimited on every band and there is no setup fee. A full-time front-desk hire is $40,000+ a year before benefits and covers one shift.
How long does setup take?+
No-code setup, usually live within the week. It starts with a free two-week proof-of-concept, no credit card required, during which we size the right volume band with you.
What happens when a call is too complex for the AI?+
It warm-transfers to a human on your team using rules you set, and leaves a transcript and summary either way. You decide what escalates.
Can it make outbound calls too?+
Yes — outbound campaigns, lead follow-up, appointment reminders and surveys, all subject to the TCPA consent and DNC rules above.
